Norwich YMCA Dolphins
I've been a member of the Dolphins since I was 10 years old. I actually started swimming a lot later than many of the other members of the team. So, I have had to work hard to catch up with them. But, I am improving slowly and steadily. The Dolphins is the first swim team that I joined and I think I like it best.
The Norwich YMCA Dolphins is one of eight YMCA teams in our District. The other seven teams are Cortland, Skaneateles, Auburn, Watertown, Fulton, Oneonta, and Oneida.
The YMCA teams all use 25 yard pools. This is my favorite!
Beginning with the 2018-2019 year, my Junior year in high school, I stopped training with the Dolphins. There were a number of reasons for this. First, there was only one other "senior" girl on the team and it wasn't nearly as much fun as it used to be. She also stopped training with the Dolphins. However, we both kept on training during the regular Dolphins season as we became "co-managers" of the boys high school varsity team. This gave us the opportunity to train with them during their season --- which is essentially the same as the Dolphins (and train with a bunch of faster swimmers).
