Welcome to my website! I've dedicated it to the athletic side of me. In it you will find a record of highlights of my swimming accomplishments in my middle school and high school years. There is also a blog in which I post newsy stuff about meets and related events that I've been involved with.
Maybe the reason I love to swim so much has something to do with my island heritage. I was born on the tiny Pacific island of Unanu in Chuuk State of the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM). My mom is from the FSM and my dad is from the US. I lived in Chuuk till I was 5 years old and then we moved to New York, my dad's home state. So, I am one of the many FSM citizens that now make the US their home.
I swim with two teams: the YMCA Dolphins (I stopped swimming with them after my Sophomore year) and the Norwich High School Varsity. The Varsity coach, Saundra Gantt, is now also my personal coach --- 12 months per year --- to help me prepare for FSM competitions.
Up through my Sophomore year in high school, almost all my swimming was done in a 25 yard pool. The one exception was in 2014, while I was still in middle school, when my older brother, Win, and I traveled to Micronesia to compete in the 2014 Micronesian Games. That was in a 25 meter pool. Beginning in my Junior year, in 2018, I began to compete in international meets as part of the FSM national team. All of these meets are in either 25 meter or 50 meter pools. I have done a separate write-up on each of these meets on the "International Competition" page of the website. By far, the most exciting of these meets was the Youth Olympic Games held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in October, 2018.
